Over the last two decades, HPLC has emerged to become today the most powerful technique available to the analytical scientist. The technique facilitates separation of complex mixtures into individual components that may be individually identified and quantified. The technique allows determination of a vast array of natural and synthetic compounds including herbicides, pesticides, drugs and vitamins and is is exploited within virtually every field of analytical science including environmental science, biochemistry, pharmaceutical research and food science.
