• 2002 First Degree: Chemistry from the University of Malaga, Spain.
• Oct 2001- Jan 2004: Laboratory technician, Environmental analysis of water, soil and air samples, Chemex Environmental International Ltd , Cambridge, England..

Selected Research projects

• November 2006: Collaboration project with the Norwegian Institute for Air Research in Norway, founded by the Research council of Norway. Project titled “Can HPLC-TOF/MS and HPLC-MS/MS detect toxic concentration of human pharmaceuticals in water?”
• July-August 2006: Supervisor of a Nuffield foundation student on the project “Analysis of human pharmaceuticals from sediment samples”
• April-October 2006: Supervisor of a Faro student on the project on the project “ Monitoring Scottish wastewater treatment plants for the presence of pharmaceuticals”

Selected presentation        

• December  2006: Presentation titled “Human Pharmaceuticals in Scottish Natural Waters” at the  “The 7 European Meeting on Environmental Chemistry” conference in Brno, Check Republic.
• April 2006: Presentation titled “Are human pharmaceuticals being introduced into the Scottish environment?” at the UHI postgraduate conference in Inverness, Scotland.
• October 2005: Presented a Poster titled “Human pharmaceuticals in the environment” at UHI Annual Lecture, Isle of Bute, Scotland
• March 2005: Attended to the conference “Pharmaceuticals in the Environment” in London, England.
